Coating costing service

MBe International has produced coating cost calculators which enable cost estimates to be made for applying most Thermal Sprayed coatings. The cost calculators are not available for sale but coating cost estimates can be given by telephone or email if the following information is provided:

• Type of Thermal Spray Gun and system being used
• Type of material being sprayed
• Cost currently being paid for material
• Surface area to be coated or dimensions of component
• Thickness of coating required

The anti-corrosion industry is extremely competitive and knowing the application cost of a given thickness of coating over a known surface area is invaluable. MBe International has provided coating cost calculations to a number of Anti-Corrosion customers who apply zinc and aluminium coatings to steel and iron structures. This service has also been extended to Plasma Spray and HVOF coatings on machine element components.

Applying coatings to aerospace components is also a very competitive market and knowing the cost of each coating is essential. Factored into the equations are material costs, gas costs, electrical supply costs, compressed air costs, spares usage and operator time.

Compressed air is often seen as a “free” commodity but even in factory situations the cost is estimated to be £0.015/1m3. On-site applications, with diesel driven compressors, often see this cost even higher.

MBe International can provide an on-site consultancy service in all disciplines associated with Thermal Spraying. Many projects have been successfully completed since MBe International’s inception in many different locations around the world.

Loan/Hire of Combustion Wire Thermal Spray Guns

Combustion Wire Thermal Spray guns are used in a variety of applications throughout industry. MBe International has loan/hire guns available whilst the customer’s own guns are being repaired.

Both hard (reclamation) and soft (zinc & aluminium) variants are available.
